- The Shadow University: The Betrayal of Liberty on America's Campuses, Alan Charles Kors and Harvey A. Silverglate, 1998. An outstanding review of the PC assault on free speech and academic freedom. Recommended by Alan Dershowitz and the Webmaster.
- The Rising Curve, edited by Ulric Neisser, 1998. The APAs attempt to explain the Flynn Effect. Rather one sided, but interesting. Of all the contributors, Flynn himself is perhaps the weakest on the real significance of the Flynn Effect. Read Arthur Jensen's The g Factor for another view.

- America in Black and White, Stephan Thernstrom & Abigail Thermstrom, Simon & Schuster, 1997.
- Why Race Matters: Race Differences and What They Mean, Michael Levin, Praeger, 1997. Recommended by Glayde Whitney and J. Philippe Rushton. This may be the most important - and most underread - book of the decade. Levin fills in the gaps on race left by Herrnstein and Murray and corrects the wrongheaded "pathology" approach to race relations of Dinesh D'Souza.
