Library Manager uses four primary files and two subsidiary files. The primary files contain information on Titles, Authors, Subjects (keywords) and Locations. There are five major windows and eleven reports available. The windows can be used all interactively and are laid out as identically as possible to facilitate learning and ease of use. The first and primary window is the Title window shown as Exhibit 1.

On the left is a box with an alphabetical listing of titles. Typing the first few letters of any title (until an actual match is found) will display all the information on the title as shown. On the top right is a box which will show the full title up to 100 characters in length. At the bottom left is the 2,000 word text field with any information you may have entered about the specific title. Just above this is a print button that will create a previewable report that will give complete information (except subjects or keywords) about the title highlighted. Just above this is the author's box. This will list all authors entered for this title in the order entered. To the right of this you will find additional information about the title (publisher, etc.) and on the bottom right is a list of subjects or keywords. Like authors, this is unlimited and is displayed in the order entered.
You will note that there two tabs on the top left. One is now active – the By Titles. If you click the other tab, By Location, you can select any specific location and the titles displayed will be limited to those in that location. The secondary Title window (Exhibit 2) allows quick location by either library code or ISBN number and is laid out identically to the primary Title window.

The Author window (Exhibit 3) is laid out almost identically to the Title windows, but it allows selection by author instead of by title and displays up to 500 characters of author text information on the bottom left instead of the title information as on the other windows.

The last two main windows display all the information shown on the first two windows except the subject information. The Subject window (Exhibit 4) quickly locates all titles that share any subject or keyword and the Location window (Exhibit 5) will do the same for any location. All these primary windows have print buttons that will print the information appropriate for the specific window.

In addition to the full individual title, author, subject or location reports printed directly from these windows, there are seven other global reports available from the report menu.
Remember that the tabbed top left box is the primary box in each window and then on the right is the secondary box. When the secondary box is Titles (as with the Authors, Subjects and Locations windows) you can click on any title and the entire window will be updated with the right information for that title. Take a look at them and see how easy it is to figure out!
The online documentation fully describes the use of the various browse windows, all eleven reports, and the easy data input.
